How big is the balcony privacy screen?
The balcony privacy screen is 1.8 metres high (6 feet). It extends out to any length up to 3 metres. When it’s fully extended, the privacy screen covers a total area of 5.4 square metres (we got our calculator out for that).
What is the privacy screen made of?
The privacy screen is a shade cloth of 30% woven polyester and 70% PVC. The lightweight frame is powder coated aluminium, and the two universal clamps are engineered in tough powder coated steel that won’t rust.
How long does it take to set up and take down the privacy screen?
It takes seconds to roll out the privacy screen once it’s attached, and it retracts in the blink of an eye. The first time you set up the clamps, it takes less than 15 minutes to position and attach the clamps, but after that it’s smooth sailing.
Can I leave the privacy screen up in the rain?
Yes. It’s tough enough to stand up to most weather conditions.
Does it need much maintenance?
A regular wipe over with a clean, damp cloth is enough to keep the balcony privacy screen looking good. It handles all weather, and the shade cloth is colourfast, but it may fade a little over time. To be on the safe side, pack your privacy screen away when you’re not using it, or if you’re going away.

Bob went out of his way to retrofit a Lookout Screen for the dimensions of my balcony at no extra charge. It's providing my tenant with a much needed extra level of privacy. It's not total privacy, though. If I was to request anything it would be a thicker material, although I acknowledge that this may be difficult if it's to still have gaps in the weave for the wind to pass through.
I have a Lookout Screen and found it easy to install, it has worked excellently and I would highly recommend. It is very strong and durable.

We purchased two blinds. These were easy to put up and do a great job at providing a screen for privacy and against the western sun in the afternoon. All the fittings look and feel like quality components. Heavy and sturdy not flimsy. We did have an incomplete part delivered but it was promptly replaced when Lookout was advised.
